Yigal Azrouël
Born and raised in Israel of French-Moroccan descent and having traveled to locations metropolitan and remote, Yigal Azrouel launched his eponymous women’s wear label in 1998 to wide acclaim and by 2000 began his participation in New York’s Fashion week. Azrouel defined his aesthetic using high quality fabric to drape ultra feminine, yet modern, silhouettes. The success of these early collections allowed the designer to open his flagship boutique in the Meatpacking District of Manhattan in February 2003, one of the neighborhood’s pioneer retail ventures, helping pave the road for its cultural birth.
Yigal’s Fall 2008 collection is inspired by the fabric itself and the process of design. Waist definition offsets voluminous skirts. Azrouel says, “The process of designing this collection was reflexive....it folded into itself.” We LOVE the dresses in this collection and feel no fashionista’s wardrobe is complete this Fall without one of them. Yigal Azrouel’s Fall collection is available in Seattle, exclusively at Butch Blum
